With over 30 years of experience in academic libraries, Scott has enjoyed multiple roles including supervising library IT units, developing online databases, administering digital repositories, supporting open access initiatives, and providing research consultations and instruction. Since joining Harvard Medical School in 2006, Scott has worked within Countway Library and currently leads the Digital Scholarship & Scholarly Communications (DSSC) department. Together, the DSSC team supports HMS, HSDM and HSPH in a wide range of activities involving digital technologies, online services, institutional repositories, and bibliometric assessment tools. An open access advocate since the earliest OA declarations, Scott continues to enjoy working with faculty, researchers, and students in raising awareness, and streamlining services that inform, encourage, and simplify participation in open science initiatives.
