Week 43 Part A: Opening preparations

Countway Library will re-open its (newly renovated) doors to Harvard Longwood students on Wednesday, January 6th at 9:00 am. A small group of us were on site today to prepare and attend to any last-minute details. Below is a picture collage of some of the preparations being made, including but not limited to signage, confirmation of Crimson Clear checkpoint, removal of furniture to adhere to proper capacity limits, branded masks and name tags for staff. The renovation project is wrapping up and the building is being deep cleaned all day today and tomorrow. Cleaning kits for study spaces arrive tomorrow, and Safety Ambassadors have received their schedules and training PowerPoint. It is very exciting to see months of planning come to life!

Opening preparations include new nametags for staff and social distancing signage throughout the building.

The opening team and I will be holding weekly virtual Town Hall meetings during the month of January to answer any questions you might have regarding the re-opening. The schedule for these meetings is below, and a Zoom link will be sent at a later time.

Wednesday, January 13th 11 am to 12 pm

Wednesday, January 20th 1 pm to 2 pm

Thursday, January 28th 12 pm to 1 pm

Stay tuned for Week 43 Part B coming later this week. Thank you for your cooperation and support during this time. I am thrilled to welcome both staff and students back to Countway in 2021. Here’s to a great year ahead!
