Public Hours for Center for the History of Medicine Exhibits

The Center for the History of Medicine’s exhibit galleries now have limited public hours. The Gallery of the Center for the History of Medicine (5th floor) and the Center’s rotating exhibition gallery (lower level 2) are now open to the public between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm on Saturdays only.

To access the galleries, visitors must receive a pass from the security desk on the Countway Library's 1st floor at the building’s 695 Huntington Avenue entrance. Passes can be acquired by showing the guard on duty a government issued photo ID. Work and student IDs will not be accepted and minors must be accompanied by an adult. There is no fee to visit the galleries.

The 5th floor Gallery of the Center for the History of Medicine exhibits highlights from throughout the broad holdings of the Center, including from the Warren Anatomical Museum collection and the case of Phineas Gage. The L2 gallery is a rotating display and is currently hosting the exhibit Prescriptions for Peace, a new exhibit on physician anti-nuclear activism from 1961 to 1985.

Harvard ID holders can visit the Center’s galleries anytime during the operating hours of the Countway Library. More information can be found on the Center's exhibit website.
