The Center for the History of Medicine is pleased to announce that objects from the Pathfinder Fund records and the James Muller papers are now available on the center's OnView site.
The items include a Pathfinder International contraception sample display from the Pathfinder Fund (AA c0179.00001), containing multiple forms of contraceptives. The Pathfinder Fund promoted contraception and family planning throughout the world.
The items from the Muller Papers include different types of investigational coronary catheters used for near-infrared spectroscopy by the company InfraReDx. James Muller founded InfraReDx to create equipment to identify vulnerable plaque. The different catheters include:
- InfraReDx 3.2 Fr spectroscopic coronary catheter, serial number 000088, in original packaging, AA c0182.00001
- InfraReDx "Not for Human Use" catheter, CDEV3, in original packaging, AA c0182.00002
- Two InfraReDx coronary catheters, mounted on cardboard with display labeling, AA c0182.00003
