Harvard Library will not renew its license for Reaxys in 2026, and access to the platform will end on December 31, 2025. This decision is based on financial considerations and licensing terms that did not meet Harvard’s standards for user rights, academic use, and long-term sustainability.
We recognize that Reaxys has been an important resource for some members of our community, particularly for reaction, substance, and chemistry literature searching. As part of this transition, SciFinder is recommended as a robust alternative and offers comparable functionality for many common research workflows.
Library staff are committed to supporting users through this change. If you currently use Reaxys, we encourage you to begin planning ahead. Librarians are available to help identify equivalent features in SciFinder, assist with workflow transitions, and answer questions about accessing chemistry and chemical information resources at Harvard.
