New AI search feature in DynaMedex

We are excited to share information about a new DynaMedex feature, Dyna AI, that is available to Harvard users now. Dyna AI leverages artificial intelligence technology to retrieve and summarize the peer-reviewed, evidence-based content within DynaMedex, saving valuable time in answering a clinical query. You must log into a free EBSCO user account to use Dyna AI.  If you don’t have a personal user account, follow these easy steps to get started. Use your Harvard email address to create the account.

Using Dyna AI:

  • Enter your clinical question into the search bar and hit enter.
  • Dyna AI will interpret your question and search within DynaMedex.
  • A response will be provided from Dyna AI when available. If Dyna AI cannot answer the question, DynaMedex will present the same search result page you’re used to seeing.
  • Users can ask Dyna AI up to 5 follow-up questions in the context of the initial question once an answer is presented.
  • Dyna AI also presents the sources from within DynaMedex used to deliver the answer, enabling one-click access to additional reading on the topic.

Please reach out to the Countway Library if you have questions about using Dyna AI or DynaMedex. Although Dyna AI has gone through rigorous testing and continues to evolve, it is important to note that generative AI itself remains an experimental technology. Users should always rely on their judgment and expertise when making clinical decisions.
