#CountwayStories: 5 Things You Didn’t Know About Matthew Noe

What's your alter ego career?

“In another life, I’d have become a philosophy professor.”

What are you most passionate about in the job you have at Countway?

“I like getting people engaged with the storytelling and narrative aspects of healthcare, especially using the comics medium – just look at our growing graphic medicine collection! Bringing in a Short Story Dispenser has also been a highlight.”

What would you say to the 25 year old you?

“Don’t try to do everything at once, like work four jobs and be a full time grad school student. It will all work out.”

Do you have a go-to genre for pleasure reading?

“Science fiction or fantasy and I do read a lot… probably about 150 books a year.”

Of the many libraries you’ve seen, which stands out as the most memorable?

“The recently renovated Boston Central library. They’ve created a community space with a café and a WGBH radio studio, while still maintaining a great print collection.”
