While the coffee might not be flowing for a short time as we begin the new year, the Countway Connection Café will be back up and running by early February at the latest! When the café reopens, a new self-service model will be in place. Unfortunately, due to financial pressure on the school level, we had to say goodbye to the dedicated staff that managed the café. However, there will be noticeable enhancements in place for 2026.
More food options will be available with the installation of additional refrigerated cabinets. And perhaps most importantly for coffee enthusiasts like me, Illy coffee will be available seven days a week during all hours that the library is open.
I would like to thank everyone who signed the petition back in the fall demonstrating their support of the café. While the decision to move to a self-service model couldn't be reversed at this time, all changes being made in the café space are being done with the goal of eventually returning to a staffed service model. All of the existing seating will remain as well, so that the Countway Connection Café can continue to be a welcoming gathering place for everyone across the medical area.
