David Osterbur completed his Ph.D. degree at the University of California at Berkeley in 1986 using protein and DNA techniques to study the response of Drosophila imaginal discs to the steroid hormone 20-hydroxyecdysone. He completed his M.L.I.S. at Simmons College in 1999. He has extensive subject knowledge gained through his Ph.D. program, and resource knowledge gained through work at DuPont Pharmaceuticals, as the Head Librarian at the Biological Laboratories Library at Harvard, and in his current position as Access and Public Services Librarian at Harvard's Countway Medical Library. David has experience teaching at many levels - undergraduate and graduate courses in molecular and developmental biology as well as one-on-one instruction in the use of many of the resources available in today's molecular biology research labs and libraries. David's professional interests include Biomedical Research and Knowledge Management Systems.
